Battens Solicitors strengthens Bath team with three senior hires

Battens Solicitors is pleased to welcome three experienced legal professionals to its Bath office, further strengthening the firm’s offering across key practice areas.

Joining the team are Mike Hansom, Senior Associate Solicitor in Property Dispute Resolution, Sarah Jackson, Head of Family (Bath), and Catherine Green, Senior Associate Solicitor in Dispute Resolution.

Mike Hansom brings more than 20 years’ experience advising on a broad range of property-related disputes. His expertise includes boundary disputes, rights of way, landlord and tenant matters, and leasehold enfranchisement. Known for his pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, Mike supports clients in navigating complex issues with clarity and confidence.

Sarah Jackson joins as Head of Family (Bath), bringing a wealth of experience in family law and mediation. Specialising in the financial aspects of divorce and separation, Sarah advises on divorce settlements, cohabitation disputes and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. A trained mediator with three Law Society accreditations, she is committed to helping clients achieve fair and practical outcomes while minimising conflict.

Catherine Green adds significant depth to the firm’s dispute resolution team, with a long-standing reputation in property litigation. Her work spans boundary disputes, rights of way, environmental issues and contested probate matters. Catherine’s wide-ranging experience enables her to support a diverse client base, from individuals to commercial organisations and landowners.

These appointments follow recent growth in the Bath office located on Gay Street, including the arrival of Raquel Ugalde (Wills, Trusts, Probate and Estate Administration including multi-jurisdictional wills) in December 2025 and Richard Watson (General Dispute Resolution) in January 2026.
