I am a planning law specialist, having worked in both the public and private sectors, and I am chairman of Battens Solicitors Ltd. I was invited to join Battens in 1988, after a career in local government, and was appointed managing director in 2004 and chairman in 2010.
I have nearly 40 years’ experience of planning and environmental matters, representing business and private clients, as well as local authorities and other public bodies.
I was a founder member of the Law Society's specialist planning panel, and I am a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute. I am an experienced advocate at planning and local plan inquiries, and recognised in the Legal 500 as an expert in the field.
Out of the office, I enjoy tennis and compiling crosswords. I have also played bass in a rock band for the last 20 years.
