I was invited to join Battens in 1988, after a career in local government and I have over 40 years’ experience of planning and environmental matters, representing businesses and private clients, as well as local authorities and other public bodies. I was a founder member of the Law Society's specialist planning panel, and I am a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
I was appointed managing director of Battens in 2004 and then chairman in 2010 and I stood down from that role in February 2021. Now semi-retired I remain with the firm as a consultant dealing principally with client care and compliance matters.
Out of the office, I enjoy playing tennis watching cricket and compiling fiendish crosswords. I have also played bass in a local rock band for the last 25 years.
