I specialise in all areas of private client work with clients throughout Somerset, Dorset and further afield. I am based in our Sherborne office and deal with will drafting, estate planning, inheritance tax issues, administration of complex estates and trusts, powers of attorney and Court of Protection issues.
One particular area of interest involves regularly dealing with agricultural estates, including drafting tax-efficient wills and succession planning. Administration of estates includes advising on intestacy rules where there was no will in place.
Through my position in the Sherborne office, I am a trusted adviser to many clients, and in some cases, to generations of the same family. This provides continuity and allows a strong client relationship to develop.
I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, as well as being an associate professional member of Solicitors for the Elderly.
I studied at Cardiff University and after completing my studies trained with Battens, qualifying in 2008 in the Private Client Department. Since then, I have progressed and was appointed senior associate in 2013. Community links are important to me and I am involved with the Sherborne Museum, on the committee for Friends of the Yeatman Hospital and run a Guide Unit in Templecombe as well as supporting many local events that take place in Sherborne. I head the Private Client team.
In my spare time, I like to unwind supporting my husband in his car racing or simply relaxing on the South West coast of Ireland.
