Rupert trained with Battens, qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and is now a key member of the Commercial Property Team.

He deals with a wide range of Commercial Property transactions including acquisitions and disposals, development site set ups, leases, re-financing and business sales.

Rupert has developed excellent co-ordination skills and contacts when working alongside intracompany departments, client’s lenders, accountants, agents and surveyors to ensure his client’s aims are kept at the fore front of everyone’s attention when progressing the transaction.

Clients can rely on Rupert’s pragmatic and diligent approach to negotiations, to ensure deals get through. He will offer commercial advice on the impact of legal issues, allowing his clients to decide whether any issues that are identified are a risk they are willing to take or whether non-negotiable lines need to be drawn.

Career Highlights:

  • Acting in the team for the seller in the multi-million-pound sale of a canal marina involving property aspects such as option agreements, leases and licences; and commercial aspects such as on going concern provisions.
  • Acting for a car dealership in refinancing their property portfolio to a new lender.
