Claire is a Chartered Legal Executive and Senior Associate in our Residential Property Team based in our Poundbury, Dorchester office. Claire focusses exclusively in helping clients with residential conveyancing, specialising in all aspects of buying, selling, re‑mortgaging and transfers of equity, including shared ownership and Help to Buy schemes.
Claire qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2010 after completing her CILEX studies through distance learning. Since starting at Battens in 2020, Claire has progressed internally to become a Senior Associate within the Residential Property team.
She has more than 25 years’ experience working in property conveyancing and has established a good working relationship with local estate agents and other solicitors, building up a network of valuable contacts in the Somerset and Dorset area. Her attention to detail and calm, efficient approach enable her to meet tight deadlines in a demanding property market while keeping clients clearly informed throughout.
Examples of cases that Claire has worked on include:
- Successfully reconstituted a title where the deeds had been misplaced and subsequently acted in the sale of the property
- Assisted a client with the first registration of their title at the Land Registry
- Dealing with transfers of equity following divorce or separation
- Assisting an elderly lady in selling her property and purchasing a retirement home
