Location / Sherborne

I am head of the Agricultural Department at Battens and I am based in the Sherborne office with the rest of the Agricultural Team.

I am from a local farming family and a partner in my family’s farming business. I am involved in all types of agricultural work, including succession planning, the buying and selling of farms and agricultural land, advising on farm business tenancies and agricultural holdings act tenancies, business leases, energy leases, telecommunication leases, the granting of fishing and shooting rights, as well as advising on easements and restrictive covenants.

Battens’ Agricultural Department is one of only a few West Country firms to be ranked in the Legal 500 (where I am mentioned for my particular expertise in advising landlords and tenants on agricultural tenancy matters).

I work closely with my colleagues in the Private Client Department in order to provide my clients with a comprehensive service, including tax and planning advice.

I originally trained at Battens and became head of the Agricultural Department in 2007.

I am a member of the Agricultural Law Association and the Country Landowners Association.
