Battens Solicitors is delighted to announce that it has raised £2.38 million for Cancer Research UK through the charity’s free Will service scheme.

All of Battens six offices in Somerset and Dorset have been taking part in the scheme since 1998.

The service allows anyone over 18 years of age to write or update a simple Will for free. Most people who use the service pledge a gift to Cancer Research UK.

The Head of Private Client at Battens Solicitors Naomi Dyer said, ‘It is a sobering thought that one in two of the population is expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime in the UK. It is so very important that we support charities such as Cancer Research UK in their quest to find a cure for a disease that sadly affects so many families. We are very pleased to be able to provide our expertise through this innovative scheme and we are proud of all our staff who have worked hard to raise so much money for a deserving cause.’

The South West Legacy Partnerships Manager for Cancer Research UK Stacey McGarry said;

‘Battens staff have done a tremendous amount of work to support us over the years and have been extremely generous giving up their time to help us in this way. We are extremely grateful, and we wanted to recognise the work they have provided with a Certificate of Excellence for the long running commitment they have given to us.’
