Battens Solicitors has seen many developments over its 300-year history, and now it is celebrating again. Over the past year the Bath office has seen massive growth with an office move, new members to the team and most recently a nomination for Best Legal firm at the Bath Property Awards 2023.

To mark the successful year, the team at Battens held a celebratory gathering to thank local clients, businesses and referrers for their ever-growing support at the award-winning local restaurant Corkage, Bath.

Battens’ Head of Commercial Property (Bath), Solicitor Patrick Mears said “We are delighted to have been joined by so many of our clients and referrers this evening, the support we have received over the past 6 years has been humbling. The past year especially has been a whirlwind, but we have enjoyed the move of office, the increase in work and most recently adding to our staff numbers and range of services based at the Bath office.”

Battens Solicitors first opened an office in Bath in 2017, quickly establishing a name for itself for strong customer service, renowned legal expertise, fresh thinking, and pragmatic insight. The Bath office initially opened on North Parade and moved to Gay Street at the beginning of this year to cement Battens’ place within the Bath business community.

The celebration evening at Corkage also gave Battens a chance to introduce some new faces to the growing team: Ross Siviter, a Senior Associate Solicitor covering Residential Property and bringing over 10 years’ of experience across Somerset and Shaz Sarfraz, a Legal Executive specialising in residential landlord and tenant disputes and bringing a wealth of knowledge across a variety of areas including criminal and civil litigation and personal injury.

Battens’ Director and Solicitor Katherine Gilmour said “Battens Solicitors is a vibrant and forward-thinking place to work, we are so glad to have a growing team in Bath. We have a strong belief in helping our community and this can not be illustrated any better than in the Battens Charitable Trust, set up in 1985 and administered pro bono by the firm. Battens Charitable Trust is pleased to have supported many local charities such as Julian House in Bath, schools and hospitals. We want to continue doing this work as it is what makes our community so vibrant; we welcome the opportunity to expand our support to other charities and organisations in Bath.”
