Tracey Parsons is a family law solicitor and family mediator based at our Dorchester office.

Tracey obtained her first degree at the London School of Economics before undertaking the training to become a solicitor. She qualified at the London firm Hodge, Jones and Allen in 1989 and worked in London for a further 12 years. She moved to Dorset in 2000 working for Coles Miller before joining Battens in 2017.

Tracey has specialised in family law work throughout her career. She provides expert advice on all aspects of family law including divorce, civil partnership, separation circumstances, financial and children matters. Her particular specialism is matrimonial finances including those involving businesses, pensions, overseas assets and inheritances and has significant experience dealing with these issues.

Tracey also has considerable experience advising on property disputes between co-owners and on the drawing up of living together and pre-marital agreements.

Tracey undertakes work in relation to children acting for parents in dispute and has many years of experience in dealing with domestic abuse, parental alienation and child abduction issues.

In addition to her legal work, Tracey is a very experienced family mediator having undertaken mediation work since 2004. She is a member of the Law Society Family Mediation Panel and an accredited mediator with the Family Mediation Council. She mediates on all family issues.

Over the last 20 years of working in Dorset, Tracey has built up strong local connections and her experience and approach provides her with a strong reputation, particularly in relation to matrimonial financial and property matters. As a family law specialist with the national organisation, Resolution, Tracey works to provide clear, cost-effective advice and legal solutions to assist clients to resolve their family problems.

Tracey has always done community voluntary work. She is a trustee of the Dorset Museum (the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society). She is also a trustee of the Dorchester Child Contact Centre. She worked as a governor of the Blandford School for many years until July 2021.
