I joined Battens as a trainee in July 2014 and qualified as a solicitor within the Private Client Team in July 2015. In this team, I have undertaken the drafting of wills, lasting powers of attorney, administration of estates and tax planning.
Prior to training as a solicitor, I enjoyed a successful career in the IT industry, primarily as a project manager implementing new IT systems. In this role, understanding my clients’ needs and devising solutions for them was key, and I have carried this over into my new career.
I undertook my graduate diploma in law and legal practice course at the University of the West of England in Bristol. Since joining the Private Client Team at Battens, I have been involved in a variety of cases, including assisting people in applying for deputyship orders for family members who no longer have capacity, dealing with returning overseas assets following a death and advising on preservation of family assets by the tax-efficient drafting of wills.
In my spare time, I like to spend as much time as possible outside, walking the beautiful coastline we are blessed with in this area. In addition, I am a trustee of a local charity, which helps teach basic IT skills to those who are unable to access public classes.
