I qualified as a solicitor in 2006 having studied for my law degree in Southampton and then completing the Legal Practice Course in Cardiff.
I was delighted to join the family team at Battens in May 2016 having spent the last 7 years at a small local firm.
I am based in our Yeovil office but I am happy to travel to other offices for the convenience of my clients.
Having had experience in many areas of law, I now specialise in children matters representing clients in both public and private law children act proceedings. I also advise clients who need urgent assistance following the breakdown of a relationship where domestic violence has been a feature.
I am a member of Resolution and I am committed to their core values of ensuring communication avoids causing distress and minimises conflicts where possible. I pride myself on providing my clients with a professional yet friendly service and I always ensure that the advice given is clear, concise and easy for my clients to understand.
I am active within my local community and currently sit as a parent governor of a Yeovil primary school. I am a committee member of the Somerset Child Contact Centres and have been on the board for the last 5 years. I believe that these centres are a vital resource for separated families and we continue to actively fundraise to fund the four Somerset centres.
Being a working mother with two small children I don’t have much spare time. However, when I do relax I like to read, especially true crime books and thrillers, and I like to go to the cinema and socialise with family and friends. I am not a sporty type but I am a lifelong supporter of Yeovil Town Football Club and like to get to Huish Park as often as possible to support my team.
