I am a solicitor specialising in commercial property. I enjoy all aspects of land law from the straightforward acquisition of high street offices or shops right through to the complex world of easements or the disposal of land with overage provisions.
Before joining Battens, I spent almost 8 years working in-house at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) dealing with the legal issues relating to an extremely large and varied property portfolio. This has given me a keen interest in property with a maritime flavour and a deep understanding of the issues facing charities in today’s market place from making operational property transactions tax efficient to enhancing the value of legacy properties through option, promotion or development agreements.
Prior to qualifying in law, I ran my own computer graphics company so I am in the unique position of understanding legal services from both sides. I am client focussed and will do my utmost to understand the way your enterprise functions whether you are a sole trader or a larger organisation. I strive to deliver legal advice in a cost-effective, jargon free manner with a high level of personal service.
Outside the office, I enjoy skiing, writing and riding my Triumph Thunderbird around the leafy lanes of Somerset and Dorset.
