I act for clients when they are owed money, and undertake all aspects of the debt recovery process.

I represent individuals, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. I am keenly aware of the importance to all businesses of maintaining their cashflow, the lifeblood of any enterprise. Getting debts in is not always pleasant, but it is absolutely essential if the business is to survive. I take quick and decisive action at all stages of the debt recovery process, from the start all the way through to final recovery, to make sure that, where possible, the money comes in.

As part of enforcement, I frequently apply for and obtain orders for the sale of property, third party debt orders in cases where the debtor is receiving payments from someone else, bankruptcy orders and winding-up orders.

I also represent clients when they are faced with debt recovery action which is being taken against them. As gamekeeper turned poacher, I can offer expert advice on the steps the creditor is likely to take and the way to respond which best fits in with the client's wishes and financial means.

Before joining Battens, I was a collections manager at Nationwide Building Society, specialising in mortgage repossessions and in the recovery of the shortfall following repossession and sale of a mortgaged property. Prior to that, I worked in a corporate law firm specialising in consumer credit and return of goods claims together with general debt issues.

I am member of the Institute of Credit Management.
