John Nowes Exhibition Foundation

Are you aged between 16 and 25?  Do you live in the Borough of Yeovil or in a surrounding parish?  Are you in need of financial assistance to fund a further education course?  

If the answer is yes to all of these questions then the John Nowes Exhibition Foundation (Registered Charity No: 309984) may be able to help. 

The conditions upon which an award may be given are as follows:-  

1.   Candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 25 on the 31st July of the year of the commencement of the course applied for; must have a household income of less than £33,000; and must be a permanent resident (live) in the borough of Yeovil or in the Parishes of Alvington, Barwick, Brympton, Chilthorne Domer, East Coker, Limington, Mudford, Preston Plucknett, Yeovil Without or West Coker.  

2.  An award may be made under one or more of the following headings:-  

(a)  The award of Scholarships, Bursaries or Maintenance Allowances for any School, University or other place of learning;  

(b) Financial assistance for clothing, equipment or books to enable beneficiaries to prepare for or assist their entry into work;  

(c) The award of Scholarships or Maintenance Allowances to enable beneficiaries to travel abroad to pursue their education;  

(d) Financial assistance towards facilities of any kind not normally provided by the Local Education Authority for recreation, social and physical training, including coaching in athletics, sports and games for beneficiaries who are receiving primary, secondary or further education; and  

(e) Financial assistance to enable beneficiaries to study music or other arts.  

All the questions on the form of application must be answered including the Declaration by the Parents, evidence of all household income (including Benefits) and the reference from the Head of the current educational establishment who must also certify the Applicant's attendance there.
