How Work Force Training Can Benefit your Business

How Work Force Training Can Benefit your Business

Apprenticeships, training and staff development will come under the spotlight next week at the April Granby Business Breakfast in Weymouth.

Julia Cohen and Shelley Poole from Weymouth College will give an interactive talk about skills and education in the workplace at Weymouth Football Club on Tuesday April 26 from 7am to 8.30am.   They will discuss the benefits to business of helping employees gain additional skills and qualifications. Plus what funding is available to businesses helping employees access the courses.   Their presentation will also cover apprenticeships and the business, management and engineering courses available at Weymouth College.

Organisers from Battens Solicitors urged businesses to sign up quickly for this very useful presentation before places fill up.

Jon Dobson, Senior Associate Solicitor-Advocate at Battens’ Granby office, said: “The recent National Apprenticeship Week has demonstrated the importance of training and staff development.

“Developing and educating your workforce can drive business growth and help attract and retain good quality employees.”   Cherise Luke-Bennett, Senior Associate Solicitor at Battens, added: “All of our breakfast speakers have been well received and we expect Shelley and Julia to prove popular too.   “Businesses are urged to book up early to secure their place.”

The breakfast will also include the usual Meet the Neighbour section, with a short talk by James Bull of IT Support 365 Limited.   There will again be ample time for informal networking before the speakers at the friendly, informal event.

Battens Solicitors launched the Granby Business Breakfast in January of this year supported by Weymouth and Portland Chamber of Commerce.   It includes a hot buffet breakfast and the cost is £8. Bookings close on Monday morning 25th April.
