Free lunch and employment advice for businesses

There is such a thing as a free lunch.  

Businesses are being invited to lunch with a top law firm next month – and find out about workplace challenges at the same time.   Battens Solicitors is staging an Employment Advice Team(EAT) – lunche in June with experts on hand.  

Headed ‘EAT Lunch @ Battens: Making Changes – Restructures and Redundancies’, the lunch will be in Battens Yeovil office on June 21.   Aimed at local businesses, the lunchtime sessions will look at how companies facing change can implement restructuring within employment law.                               

Dawn Gallie, Battens’ Senior Associate & Head of Employment, said: “In business, changes are sometimes required, either within a particular department or across an organisation as a whole, to account for workloads, business needs or other factors.   

“During these sessions, we will discuss restructures and redundancies, how they can be achieved and the processes that employers must follow to ensure they don’t fall foul of current law.”      

Dawn said that there would also be consideration of the effect the EU Referendum taking place on June 23 might have on employment issues.  

“Business owners or managers with HR responsibilities will benefit greatly from the session whatever the size of Company especially those that don’t necessarily have a dedicated HR manager she added.  

Lunch will be provided and attendees will have the opportunity to share thoughts and discuss any connected issues.  

Long-established Battens, which has offices in Yeovil, Sherborne, Weymouth, Dorchester and London, has been running EAT lunches every three months for over four years.   The session is a Battens’ offices, Mansion House in Princes Street, starting at 12.15pm.
