Demand Prompts Battens to Offer Weekly Advice in Castle Cary
Legal advice sessions in a Somerset town are moving from fortnightly to weekly to cope with growing demand.
Lawyers from Battens Solicitors have increased the frequency of their face-to-face consultations in Castle Cary after achieving success with an initial six months of community outreach.
The new sessions will take place at the same venue, The Shambles, Market House, every Tuesday morning from 9am to 12.30pm, starting on 4th August, 2015.
Leading the sessions are Naomi Dyer, Senior Associate Solicitor, and Sally Manning, Graduate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, both from Batten’s Private Client Department. Colleagues from other departments are also available to help with legal issues at all times.
Since their fortnightly initiative began in January, Battens Solicitors have advised on a range of legal issues including Wills, tax, property succession, employment law, planning, divorce, family matters and the administration of estates.
Naomi, who works from Batten’s Sherborne office, said: “We have had a great response across all areas of work from these community sessions and so it is a natural move to extend them and move to a weekly basis.”
The sessions operate on a no-obligation basis and are designed to enhance the services offered for businesses and individuals at Battens’ permanent offices.
During the autumn, the firm is also staging a series of talks on legal topics at The Shambles in Castle Cary, all from 6pm to 7pm.
- Lasting Powers of Attorney and the Care Act, co-hosted with Andy Hopper of Albert Goodman, on Thursday, on 10 September.
- Inheritance Tax Planning & Business Property Relief, co-hosted with John Broxup of Castleton Financial Planning, on Thursday, 15 October.
- Wills & Topical Tax Issues, co-hosted with Max Foote of Max Foote Accountants, on Thursday, 26 November.
