Battens Charitable Trust Continues Support for Dorchester Arts
Battens Charitable Trust – which was established by Battens Solicitors – is to continue as exclusive theatre sponsor for Dorchester Arts, a specialist organisation that not only brings a variety of stage performances to the area, but engages community groups of all ages in Arts activities.
Dorchester Arts is thrilled The Trust continues to recognise its good work by continuing as exclusive theatre sponsor for Dorchester Arts. Mark Tattersall Artistic Director at Dorchester Arts said:
"We are incredibly grateful to Battens Solicitors and its Charitable Trust. Its generosity as a longstanding supporter has enabled Dorchester Arts to present an exciting, varied and popular theatre strand for several years, which is much appreciated both by us and the theatre-loving community in Dorset!"
Battens Charitable Trust, which was established and is administered free of charge by Battens Solicitors, has donated more than £250,000 to charities and causes in and around Somerset and Dorset since it was first founded in 1985. Groups to have benefitted from its funding include schools, hospitals, children and youth sports groups, disability groups and hospices; yet it is not widely known that The Trust relies on the generous donations of local people to enable it to support these key community causes.
"Some people want to help others by making life time gifts or by leaving money to charity when they pass away,” explained Ray Edwards, Director of Battens Solicitors and a Trustee of Battens Charitable Trust, “but many don't know which charity to choose, so instead they leave a legacy to the Battens Charitable Trust in their will, knowing that it will be distributed to charitable organisations that make a very real impact to the communities they knew and the places they loved.”
If you would like to leave a legacy in your will, in some cases a free will scheme may be available or to make a donation to the Trust please email Louisa Dustan at email@example.com.
