David Stephens, Chairman of Battens solicitors, has announced the promotion of three of its staff by awarding them significant promotions. Gemma Galvani, Georgina Bacon, and Oliver Thorp have all been given accolades to recognise formally the considerable achievements they have made in their respective fields.
“The promotions not only recognise the work of these fantastic solicitors,” explained David, “but the rapport they have developed with their clients and how much we value this as a company.”
Gemma, who joined Battens in 2016, and Georgina, who has been with the firm for four years, both work for Battens’ Family Law Team and have been promoted from Solicitors to Associates.
Gemma said:
“Battens is incredibly supportive of career progression and in giving recognition of the dedication and hard work that is required to work within the area of family law. We have a really strong Family Team headed by Louise Gidley and, since joining the firm, I have not only become an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel, but I’ve now received this promotion. I am delighted.”
Georgina said:
“Battens prides itself in its standard of excellence and this promotion recognises both my experience and the standard of work that I have achieved for Battens and my clients at Court and in the office, supporting and guiding parents and carers through difficult family law issues involving their children.”
Oliver qualified as a solicitor in Cornwall before relocating to Somerset. He has been with Battens for five and a half years in the Property Dispute Team and is thrilled with his promotion to Senior Associate Solicitor. “Put simply, I’m very happy!”
Oliver commented:
“It is gratifying that my hard work has been recognised. The Property Dispute Resolution Team is expanding fast: we have recruited two solicitors in the last 14 months and are looking for one more, and in my new role as Senior Associate, I'll be supporting and encouraging our increasingly large pool of developing talent and ensuring clients are kept up-to-date with how their cases are progressing. I feel lucky to work for an ambitious yet still friendly firm, and hope to have many more successful years here."
