Family Department

Battens' family team has many years of experience in dealing with complex issues relating to the family and provides a sympathetic, dependable service. The team is spread between the firm's various offices and offers each other comprehensive support, allowing the firm to provide specialised expertise to clients of any office.

Many of the team's family lawyers are members of Resolution First for Family Law (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), which aims to resolve matters fairly, and attempts to avoid any further damage to the relationship between the parties.

In addition to the normal charging structures we are able to offer a free half hour preliminary verbal advice service.

We have a franchise with the Legal Services Commission and, subject to our clients' financial circumstances, can offer Publicly Funded (Legal Aid) advice and representation.
