Jacqui specialises in debt recovery and small claims court disputes. Her clients range from private individuals and sole traders to national companies and she handles disputes in industries such as travel, retail, building and construction, the automotive industry and agriculture.
She assists clients in the recovery of debts, often in relation to unpaid invoices or the repayment of loans. Jacqui progresses matters from start to finish, including the pre-action stage where correspondence is exchanged right the way through to issuing claims and enforcing judgments. She frequently appears as an advocate in the County Court. Enforcement options which she pursues on behalf of clients include warrants of execution where the County Court bailiff is sent in, writs of fieri facias where the High Court sheriff is sent in, attachment of earnings orders, third party debt orders (to divert monies which would otherwise be paid to the debtor), charging orders over land, orders for sale of land and property, and bankruptcy proceedings.
Jacque also represents defendants when they are faced with debt recovery action. She is able to deploy for their benefit the skills and experience she has gained working on the other side of the fence.
Her area of expertise includes consumer rights, particularly those concerned with breaches of the Sale of Goods Act, the Supply of Goods and Services Act and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations.
