  As a key member of our debt recovery team, Angela acts for clients when they are owed money and undertakes for them all aspects of the debt recovery process. She represents individuals, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. She is keenly aware of the importance to all businesses of maintaining their cashflow, the lifeblood of any enterprise. Getting in debts is not always pleasant but it is absolutely necessary if the creditor business is to survive. Angela takes quick and decisive action at all stages of the debt recovery process all the way through to final recovery, As part of enforcement, she frequently applies for and obtains orders for sale of property, third party debt orders in cases where the debtor will be receiving payment from someone else, bankruptcy orders and winding up orders. She is a frequent advocate in the County Courts in Dorset and Somerset.

  Angela also represents clients when they are faced with debt recovery action which is being taken against them. As gamekeeper turned poacher, she can offer expert advice on the steps the creditor is likely to take and the best way to tackle them in a way which fits in with the client's wishes and financial means.

  Angela arrived at Battens from Nationwide Building Society where she was a collections manager specialising in mortgage repossessions as well as in recovery of the shortfall following repossession and sale of the property. Prior to her time at Nationwide, she was employed by a corporate law firm and specialised in consumer credit and return of goods claims together with general debt issues.
