"Your common sense approach was extremely valuable."
Donna Bowman, Absolute Cooling Ltd.
Legal Executive David March originally joined Battens in March 1969, as assistant to the then senior partner Henry Batten. He left in 2003 to move to Spain due to his wife’s ill health.
During his time at Battens from 1969 to 2003 David qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, became Chairman of the Somerset branch of Ilex and after being elected to National Council of Ilex went on to be elected National President.
Whilst living in Spain he helped many Brits who required assistance on legal issues in Spain or the UK.
David moves back into the Commercial Property team to further enhance and develop current business relationships.
With wide experience in the areas of commercial, residential property and agriculture, David specialises in all aspects of residential and commercial development, including options, acquisitions and sales, setting up the documentation for developments and statutory Agreements with the Statutory undertakers. In 1983 he was responsible for securing Battens largest client, who is still with the firm today.
David says, "I am delighted to return to Battens and am enjoying the challenge of the Commercial Property and Agriculture work. The warmth I have received from colleagues and clients alike more than compensates for the loss of the Spanish sun."
David has always had an interest in Law Reform and whilst on the National Council chaired the Law Reform Committee, involving liaisons with Parliamentary agents and MPs. Locally David had previously carried out pro bono work acting for and setting up many charities.
Battens CEO Keith Fullman says "We are delighted that David has re-joined us. He will add a further dimension to the Commercial Property and Agriculture team to help build on current client relationships and success in providing first class legal advice to businesses across Somerset and Dorset."
