"Staff are very pleasant and courteous, it was a pleasure dealing with you."
Mr Dove, Puddletown.
The sun was shining and there was a definite friendly yet competitive edge to the air, when 30 teams from all areas of the local business community took to the sands to go head to head in this year’s charity beach volleyball event.
Ocean Spa, Goadsby, DEK, Higos, Atlas Elektronik, Agincare and the Dorset Echo were some of the teams represented but it was Leam B&B who for the third year proved too good and claimed victory against Team New Look in a close final match, winning 20-15.
In the knock out round of 'the best of the rest,' The Plate was won by the Swann Recruitment All Stars after defeating DEK’s Dekkies in a sudden death showdown 19-18.

Maria Brindley from Battens Solicitors said: "we wanted to raise as much money as possible for Dorset based charities Dorset Wildlife Trust and the West Dorset Women’s Refuge whilst making the event bigger and better than last year. We would like to thank all the teams and spectators for helping to do this. We have currently raised £1000."

Battens worked with the volleyball club, along with Weymouth and Portland Borough Council to organise the event. Maria continues "The volleyball club, who host the Weymouth Beach R.A.F. Classic Volleyball Event over the weekend, allowed us to use the courts on the Thursday evening. This gave people from the local community a great opportunity to use the outstanding facilities."

As well as being able to play more games this year, with the addition of the knockout round for those that did not make it through to the quarter finals, there was also half time entertainment in the form of Dorchester's Magic Drum Orchestra.
Maria goes on to say, "The most important part of the evening was that everyone had fun on the beach, whilst raising money for a good cause and from the feedback we have received so far, I think we achieved that."
